Apocalypti

It's called apocalypti, okay?

Threefer

I've been so busy, I've barely had time to write!

So, I moved into a town I'd never heard of, in the hopes that they would never have heard of me.

Lucky Palms, it's called. I found it by driving until I was out of gas, pretty much.

And I was right - for the most part, they'd never heard of me.

Naturally there's been a lot of work to do.

I joined the local militia, in part to try and collect viable DNA samples, and in part to do my duty by the community. After all, it was my failures that yielded such disastrous results.

It didn't take long at all - maybe a couple of months at most - to round up all the zombies in the area. So far, there isn't a cure, but as long as they're kept in quarantine, well.

The point is, the zombies aren't a big threat anymore, and I'm hailed as a hero for my part.

That made it so much easier to get the samples I needed.

I met a man - a witch - who had the perfect DNA for the project. I'd already discarded two other samples.

The science station whirred as I brought it to life on battery power, using it to create the baby. It was a fascinating process to watch - it built the skeleton, then it built the organs and muscles, before finally covering the body in a layer of skin.

The infant was so soft as I held him in my hands, and I found him to be beautiful.

Of course I'd already programmed his brain with all the knowledge I had accumulated over the years, that was the point of all of this, after all. I may not be the perfect being, I may never know everything, but my ... "son" will.

I've made certain of that.

When Troy - the witch - discovered what I'd done, he was curious. He - we - well.

We got to talking. I found him to be handsome enough, and a decent person, besides.

I've still got things to do, but more importantly ....

It's becoming increasingly obvious that I, alone, will not be able to reverse the damage I've done.

It will take generations.

I need DNA to ensure that those generations exist - and only DNA gotten straight from the 'source' will do.

So I married Troy, and we planted our first seed together.

The miracle of life.

Whee, Military and Alien Tech cleared this go.

Married in the supernatural whose DNA I took for the AT requirements, and have so far planted two seeds.

We have now Kiera - the only Sim in the house who can cook, Troy - shooting for Symphonic because I forgot I could roll and that came up first in the paper (still badass luck), Terry - the clone baby, and Rose - the heir apparent. There's also another seed in the planter.

I did forget to buy a refrigerator before moving non-plants into the household, but, you know, little things. It was fixed the next day, anyway.

Over all, things are going smoothly. Let me just go find some plywood to knock on.

A Series of Unfortunate Mistakes

My name is Kiera Drake, and I want to know everything.

That's not such a bad life goal, is it?

I don't think so.

I spent my entire college career studying every subject I could possibly imagine. I used experimental brain-enhancing technology, I barely slept and almost never ate, and I even managed to trigger a small meteor shower over the campus.

I engineered a special fruit to begin a massive biological change in my being, mutating it from so much sentient meat into sentient plant matter. Then I reversed the transformation, and did it again, just to prove I could.

Human testing isn't ethical, but no harm comes of trying things out for yourself, you know?

So I did. It suits me, and I find this state of being to be most enlightening.

While working on that, I created several random by-products. I'd thought initially to try radiation - all I managed to do was turn a handful of water beetles into an extremely radioactive, bioluminescent version of themselves. The scientific community applauded my efforts - I earned a moderate amount of fame, even -but that wasn't the end goal, not at all.

I messed around with fruits and vegetables - that was amusing. I created some of the best empanadas this world has ever seen. At least, so I'm told - I didn't get the chance to eat any myself. Consuming them yielded some unfortunate side effects in my dorm-mates, but nothing that I wouldn't be able to reverse - I thought. The subjects got away from me, though.

I'll go over that a bit more later on.

Of course, once I succeeded in crafting the "forbidden fruit" seeds, I needed to create the means to reverse the transformation. The secret of 'super spice' was trivial to obtain, after all the work I'd already put in.

I've still got my masterpiece to complete - the vessel for all of my knowledge, but I'm confident I'll realize that goal shortly. The station has just enough power left for me to engineer the perfect being.

So.

If you're reading this, then know that I have made some grave mistakes.

The first mistake involved the empanadas I mentioned.

They sort-of killed my dorm-mates, the ones who ate them. But they didn't just kill them - they, too, experienced massive cellular change. Instead of plants, they - well, they rose as the undead. Zombies, if you will. It was purely accidental - an incidental side effect of my research. But they escaped the dorm, ravaged the college, before fleeing to parts unknown.

The virus spread exponentially, until most of the world was devastated.

My second mistake? That was the meteor shower.

The brilliant white beam that kicked off that fiery display in the sky? That ... apparently that attracted unwanted attention.

When the aliens came, they found our world devastated, on the brink of utter ruin. They decided to 'uplift' us - sharing their superior knowledge, technology, and strength of arms by conquering our civilization.

I've taken great pains to ensure no one knows what I've done.

Now I just need to undo the damage.

I'll start with the zombies. How hard could it be?

Second, third, fifty-sixth, who's counting really?

I'm not. Shush.

So I'm doing this thing again

Easy start, attempting Alien Tech via Think Tank method for an interesting challenge. Accidentally had the game set to all winter so the first semester is winter this time, rather than the third.

Succeeded in all the collegiate requirements and brought home the science research station, down to one more DNA sample and actually creating the clone. Then I just need to make some viable plantbabies to be my heir.

Week 1, Day 6: Military 7, almost done with three lifts. So far, so good.
